Since 1995 eco has been representing the interests of the internet industry. We develop markets, promote technologies and form frameworks. As the largest association of the internet industry in Europe, with nearly 600 members, we are shaking up the industry. With our competence groups - Security, Infrastructure, Mobile Internet, Cloud Computing, E-Commerce, Games, Online Marketing, Law and Regulation - we're driving an extensive network of experts forward, together with a team of over 40 employees, on an enormous range of Internet topics.
Special eco services help make the market more transparent for users and providers. For instance, our seal of approval - ensuring quality standards, counselling services for members, and support for internet users who have questions on legal, safety and youth protection.
As an association, it is one of the most important tasks of eco to represent our members' interests in political arenas and in international bodies. With our offices in Berlin and Brussels, we are at the center of political decision-making processes. eco is a founding member of EuroISPA, the umbrella organisation of European Internet Industry Associations, and represents the German industry at the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) of ICANN, with a seat on the Council, and is the driving force behind the Internet Governance Forum. In short - we're shaping the internet.
