The German Kommission für Jugendmedienschutz (KJM) - Commission for the Protection of Minors in the Media - is a supervisory authority, responsible for all kinds of electronic media (TV and online). It acts on behalf of the regulatory authorities as a non-state body and comprises twelve experts nominated by the media regulatory authorities and the supreme juvenile welfare authorities of the federal government and the states.

The purpose of the KJM is to supervise the norms defining the protection of minors. As a responsible state media authority it recognises and issues licences to institutions of voluntary self-regulation (accreditation or certification) and approves furthermore, technical measures, such as content filtering and rating systems.
