The event of the Bildungswerk für Medien & Kommunikation Minden-Lübbecke (Educational Institute for Media and Communication Minden-Lübbecke) addresses pedagogical professionals in school and youth work. Cyber bullying is defined as insulting, threatening, exposing or harassing of others using modern communication media over a prolonged time span. It occurs on the Internet (e.g. through e-mail, instant messaging, social networks or online videos) or via mobile phone (e.g. through text messages or phone calls). The offender often acts anonymously so that the victim does not know from whom the attacks come from. In the case of cyber bullying among children and youth, however, victims and offenders usually know each other in the "real" world as well. The victims almost always have a suspicion who the offender could be.

In this seminar, praxis-oriented strategies and techniques will be developed for youth work and school environment. In everyday pedagogical work, they shall be an aid to support victims of bullying, identify problematic situations and to work on it in the group with the necessary sensibility. On demand, the event can be organised for student or adolescent groups, too. The event is led by Christine Eichholz.
