Young people and increasingly more and more children are naturally moving in virtual worlds and thereby in particular in the social network Facebook. They communicate there with their friends, organise their relationships and document partly meticolously their lives. The profile there page has become a goal-oriented tool of self-expression and identity management. For the vast majority of young people, the Internet and especially the social networks are not a virtual living space, but an important part of their life.
While on the one hand, more and more organisations and institutions of social work catch attention via social networks, on the other hand, there are certainly attitudes that are reluctant or hostile against the network platforms.
Via the use of social media in the context of traditional public relations, social work uses increasingly the medium of Facebook for the direct and "personal" contact with their clientele. This form of making contact is still a relatively new field - often only in a trail stage. But first experiences are made ??and the discussion about the pros and cons of possibilities and opportunities, limitations and pitfalls has to be done, because it serves the positioning and development of social work.
With regards to this necessary discourse, this event aims to provide a forum. Detailed information are available only in German via the Flyer to this event.
