Cyberbullying has become a growing concern across the EU. In recent years, the face of bullying has changed. Due to the increasing use of technology, bullying has also moved into the realms of the internet. Thus, the effects are harder to detect and identify for parents and teachers and the culprits are not to reach bacause of the anonymity of the internet. Early education of children and young people is therefore important to illustrate the damage that can be done with cyberbullying.
In this light, COFACE organises a European Conference on Cyberbullying on the 28th of May in Madrid. The conference will bring together key actors and stakeholders involved in the prevention of cyberbullying, early detection and intervention, including NGOs, helplines and hotlines, public bodies and law enforcement.
The aim of the conference will be to foster more cooperation between key actors, reference and share their existing good practices and material and create innovative tools which feed on the work of all these stakeholders to better empower and support children, parents and teachers in relation to cyberbullying.
