The main aims of this conference are on one hand to present the results of the Ch@dvice project on online counseling (run by Child Focus (Belgium), Artevelde University College (Belgium) and the Austrian Institute for Applied Telecommunications (OIAT), highlighting the challenges and opportunities of a chat help.

On the other hand, to launch the European Digital Youth Care Network, in order to share experiences and best practices among practitioners in the European field.

The specific objectives of the conference are:

  1. To bring a wide range of stakeholders together including practitioners in the field, researchers, and policy makers to reflect on the challenges and opportunities associated to offering online support via new online media in general and more specifically for young people victims of sexual abuse.

  2. To launch the European Digital Youth Care Network.

  3. To inform policy makers, local governments and representatives of the European Union about existing initiatives in the field on online counseling, especially regarding victims of sexual abuse, and the opportunities and challenges ahead.

This one-day international conference will be discussions, with presentations and debate of a panel of experts and politicians. Each session(s) will be followed by question(s) from the audience and discussion(s) between participants and members of the panel. Please note that everything will take place in English.
